Voting Experience.

I went and voted in early voting this week on Wednesday. Particularly, I voted in a place and a state where voter suppression is common. Texas of course is one of the worst states for voter suppression. Harris County, the place in which I live which constitutes Houston and Humble and other places. Noticeably this county is one of the most diverse county in Texas. So when Governor Abbot actually shrunk the locations people during an epidemic could drop their ballots off from 12 locations to one location-oh, it is voter suppression. Suppression that affects old people who don't want to put their lives at risk. Namely, I am to say that Governor Abbott  seeks to entrench the voting rights of a  populace that is full of people of color. Its terrible that we even have to even stomach this nonsense.

The great thing Governor Abbot and judges in Texas are doing is just disfranchising people of color and democrats indeed. They want to allow the voting power of these small towns and distant Texas location overpower the voting power of a city that is the 4th largest in the world. Houston has the fourth largest population in the world and its not mainly white people living there. There is everyone from around the globe living in Houston. Correctly, you can actually find someone from every country in Houston. lIterally the republican plan is to basically ignore the population's actual voice in a democracy and just wants a direct hierarchy based on race as if they are the "pure Texans".

This is to be said that Governor Abbot and his fellows who allow him to do his misdeeds, just want to lord over people like they are kings and queens and frankly say, " fuck you and your way of life". They truly despise people of color, in sheer honestly and try to say in the times of epidemic that mail in voting is a fraud and try their earnest as people are voting to prevent them from voting. On Monday, they tried to come at curb side voting where people vote from their cars. Making some outlandish argument that it would create voter fraud. Everything is voter fraud where its concerned with the safety of people of color who most likely will die of the coronavirus if exposed.

I can not tell you how horrid, but a neighbor of mine even died from the coronavirus. I mean, one morning he was just looking tired and then that is the  last I saw of him until word got around that he had died after fighting for a month! It is evil to try to misplace some feigned duty to your country whilst do everything to disrespect the lives of people of color. Namely, its a dog whistle to even say that people cannot  have an solid ground on needing to vote by mail because of an epidemic that could kill them. No, these white governors and judges just want people of color to go out and die and frankly just want to nudge them to where they are vulnerable to the virus so they can reach an ideal version of Texas that had never existed in history. Folks, is Austin or Dallas, one of the largest cities in the United States? No, they aren't but Houston is. We, the people in Harris County count more than Houston but its surrounding areas too and when a government decides to ignore much of its people in a democracy, is it really a democracy? The answer is no, it is a chokehold on people and their way of living.

You might not understand this but its never Governor Abbott coming after the counties that are basically full of white people and republican lending. You might not understand this but its never these small cities and really lesser sized cities' mayor that he is coming against. You never see him coming but for a county judge that is a woman of color especially in the handling of the coronavirus to protect the community of people of color. I truly am to say that, really much it is a them versus us mentality and way of being. And surely enough we have local judges and mayors to represent the local people and a governor should not be acting as king and trying to make conditions hard for people. by imposing  rules they don't want or will ever benefit them! Truly the ways Governor Abbot engages only inspires  discrimination and trying to cannibalize a large and growing population for those that are shrinking. Much of Texas is nothing folks, but pastures and small towns with racists in them. Only at the top, the gulf and towards California are any real places with people who live in anything resembling a city. Most of the big cities in Texas all have people of color as their majority yet Governor Abbott just wants to make it so  that by saying there can only be one drop off location for mail in voting in each county, that people who largely won't be able to leave their house are forced to just to secure a vote.

The thing of this week that many people don't realize is that people don't like be spoken down to or put in a place as second class citizens for people who rarely even see the light of real society as in working fucking cities. I think people realized " Texas is not all about cowboy boots, tractors and country music" and came out in droves for early voting. 16% of voters had voted at this time(this week counting Saturday) in the 2016 elections in Harris County. This year it is up to 21%. (Texas Tribune). I mean that literally folks, that in other counties people are just surging in early voting too. To be sure, the attempts of voter suppression and people being stepped over by Governor Abbott and the Republicans just encourages people to come out and defy these moves that are antithesis of what is American.

I encourage anyone who lives in the Harris County and counties across the country to vote because your voice matters in this democracy and likely for the party that wants to keep a democracy, too. Which of course if you did not know would not be the Republicans in a 1000 years.
