Why I don't want to be cushy or used graphic designer or comic book artist.

I of course will say that there has always been a think where people think they have to be one thing or the other. I do not agree on this fact especially in a graphic design program where and when people of  a degree only believed they had to get "sufficient" education enough to hardly be a graphic designer. I don't know much about many other graphic designers but the people in graphic design program albeit until 2019 and then some many people even in time period were true idiots. Who wished not know anything but the limited knowledge they would even get from graphic design and many times people would not even have mastered concepts and were just passed along by the teachers or held favoritism with them that really-they thought they had skills but did not.  I am to say there was a woman older by three years at the point who really did not know 9th grade vocabulary words and well-folks she always came to class half dressed to be real important and really much was so sure that she did not need to learn other things or not be concerned she did not know certain things. I would be very concerned if you did not know a whole span of adult words and well people obviously in the future to hire you as a graphic designer expect you to be proficient in english at least to even converse with them but many times than enough- none of these graphic designer teachers cared to that limit or actually realized many people would not be going far in their careers and they really bluntly did not care. As long as they were framing people in the context of what professional things are done and how they are done and not if people would actually be good at doing them. The portfolio class tried it best and earnest to enforce" if people would actually be good at doing them" but the teacher did not know what he was doing and the class was a cut and paste mess and really enough just," show the class videos and if I like you-good job and everyone else fuck off". Truly, the whole program just promoted graphic designers as being idiots, being taken of and really having a hard time to make a career for theirselves. Ardently, the professors if you can call them that really had no form of real higher education if I am to be seriously serious. I have seen art programs here and there folks and none of them are anything that promote real art skills even, professional, equality importantly, a fair chance and any form of the sense of reality that many people won't go anywhere because the materials taught in the program are fucking trash. Literally, you could learn more in other programs like business where people refuse to also apply theirselves and just be idiots. At least there is knowledge in books you concernedly don't have to discover purely by yourself. Oft the big point is that the teachers were fools theirselves and really much did not want to promote the real assets of higher education or actually tell people that they were not going to be successful when they basically just passed them on. Truly graphic designers are only taught in this place to fear knowledge and go for the lesser and cheaper goal and that is bad. Because graphic designer I am to say might just be a temp profession that people can only do for like a short time after it emergences as a profession before robots overtake it. Do we have milk men today? We don't. Same thing with graphic designers.
Ardently the field changes radically as technology advances so you constantly have to learn stuff and in that community college, people were just taught to fear everything and every single thing over and over again that could truly lead to a better education and higher status even in graphic design.

Spoke to one girl.  Did not even want to go for the full associates degree in graphic design whereas you can say in other colleges you would have to pay tons of money and take very difficult classes just too graduate and they would be in very biased art classes and programs who might kick you out if you fail your art portfolio review your sophomore year or whereever they have it to judge you harshly. She seriously thought she would not need any more knowledge or anymore power in that knowledge but alas, thought she was special herself and could be said to be so "talented" alone that she would just get jobs to compensate. Even if such a thing would work out, it is very odd that a person would want to limit theirselves to a one market of limited demand when they could have a broad one to appeal to. Oft people, it is hard to even get commissions online and this is what this girl wanted so badly to do.

Spoke to another girl. She only wanted the associates degree and was done with school. As if afraid of ever trying to learn any higher or expand higher. Because well maybe there would be no campy and cluster fuck people bending down to her that she was good just because they found compassion to like her better than other students by her being apart of the graphic design club at the community college and the "it" crew. Really much the "it" crew was just full of people who were so bloated in ego and substance that it was funny they thought they were successful or going to be by the lack of knowledge they had and the real amount of skills they possessed. Literally just people picked by the teachers to do their work and well the teachers were idiots and picked often the wrong people to delegate tasks to obviously ignorant to their own favoritism and how in reality some of the designs of the chosen ones were just bad and tacky looking. They eventually could make shirts for an event or something only because they-the teachers had created a design and then would ask students of their favoritism to transpose the works. And well this girl was just apart of that group who was not given the chance to create anything from scratch like fellows in the past but given safe elements with a convenient style the teachers had researched was not tacky and think they were doing shit. It was a joke literally to assume you had importance by being just a kempt dog incapable to think for yourself, have real skills and utterly just used for free labor by the teachers to say they involved the students when some reporter or someone would come around to dog down the whole program as basic trash." we give the poor people a chance" this is essentially in sum the sentiment of what I saw a teacher speak about the students, the program and the whole community college. If you went to a community college it was not because you were trying to save money  solely but were an idiot.

I am to tell you while some people go to community colleges because they don't have the smarts -many people are actually bright and keep to theirselves and really enough just go there to save money for college because a four year degree does not come cheap. In sum, the girl thought she was important and knew she was only important to the college because of how she was treated as a member of elites when even these elites were talked about bad by the college professors who would just use them to do their work for them, transpose things for them and stuff. Seriously, the girl was so comfy here she did not ever want to leave when the whole comfort was a myth and yet she was not with the knowledge or smart enough to realize how and which people were actually against them. Ardently you won't advance in graphic design in its uncertain market only learning shit from programs that probably won't be relevant in the near future.

I mean, what if Adobe just decided to put all programs in one and none of the functions were the same as the previous programs. Don't worry! This kinda has already happened several times. It has not be odd for Adobe itself to include programs it later dissolves into mere features into another edition of another program. Oft this person was just so confident in what they had here and really did not recognize how little they had and how limited any understanding they had. They were worse off than people who made tacky designs for posters and award certificates in fall 2015 because they would never be tasked with creating the full design. Nope, they would simply be asked to take a part of something already premade and basically call a rearrangement of prepackaged designs their own work. Something as sad as that should never be the promise in which one person refuses more skill and yet more money where a 4 year degree is concerned. This girl of course was just afraid of not having any support as she did here and well, she never actually did but I was not going to tell her what professors she doted on said about students in an interview four years prior her completion. Nope, a fool is a fool and she wanted to be so privy to being an elite, she should walk truly as an actual fool. To be said folks, you in art or anything artistic in nature never shut down true opportunities to even learn or advance your title in job credits. Simply enough being a graphic designer really much means researching, knowing trends and knowing how to do things in those trends. There is kind of a reason 1980s graphics look different than the ones in 2020. Its because it is because graphic design is an evolving field and if you box yourself in. You will just be left alone with you and your clients stuck in the 1980s with you.

Upon the subject of idiotic people, there was  certain teacher I took in the fall 2017 and the spring 2018 that was a basic fool who really did not know what he was doing. Does order look like learning a program that surely in the midst of the class will cease operations as a program that anyone will literally use in the future? Does it look like learning when everything in the classroom is devoid of modern graphic design equipment which include tablets that connect to the computer? Ultimately this guy had limited skills and was trapped to clients he had gotten strictly from the past of his prominence before he refuse to learn anything useful and worthwhile. Oft you should never trust people who have to scapegoat in the graphic designer teacher role because they don't have the skills to be hired anymore by anyone. Literally, so to speak you either continue to learn or you fail and fall into a bubble where you are forever just stuck with the limited clients who and justly who don't any better to hire anyone else with better skills than you.

This one girl only reminded me of this old man in this trash room and his outdated principals and in a state of firm comfort with misinformation. How did anyone approve the syllabus for the semester when the program to be used was to be dropped as a program that would be given support by Adobe. Simply Adobe gives heads up to the discontinuation of products and maybe if these teachers and head of the department actually gave a fuck then maybe they would have seen the date in which it was going to conclude as a "needed product". Literally when programs are discontinued, there are no further updates, there is no customer service, no help you can find ideally from the maker if it causes troubles for you or breaks down or has an issue and really much the maker will not sell it anymore an the copy you have on your computer is the last and rare copy that will exist as long as your computer survives. Ardently, if you lose the computer you had the program on and rely on it and depend on it for an income, it will be hard to obtain safely again. I mean safely in the fact that other people will still have the program but to download from sites will put your computer at risk or even leave you vulnerable for viruses. I myself know this about discontinuations from many experiences. Oft folks being incompetent, stupid and refusing to learn new things is not any of my experiences and frankly you will have to learn new things to be successful in life especially when you are basically cut off from support of the maker of a program you depend on to make a website because you could never learn code. The guy who was the teacher dismissed code when a student asked and was like, " I leave code to the real champs". I mean this guy was a really fucking coward to learn anything. Much and much what was being taught of the graphic designers to be was to be stupid, unwilling to learn, value non existent equal relationships so you are used doing free work in admiration or competition for affection( them gold stars) and just how to fucking fail.

These two young women were just brought up in a way from their upbringing to never question anything or never reach for any high goals just things they could get away with on the minimal thought and effort. True and true. And especially just made them susceptible to thinking that they had happened upon the holy grail at a community college and that they were elites. Both of them thought that and both were apart of the "elite" graphic design club and well one was just a bit more informed than the other by not greatly. They really did not need to learn anything and just had an abundance of talent to just shoot to the top making the money where and well when they would not have either the credits  or the skill but playing make believe. The worst thing is to be there in a community college thinking you are something when you are just playing make believe and when you get out into the real world people won't hire you because you only have a certificate and really enough people won't hire you because you don't know how to even think for yourself to even do what they ask of you and if lucky enough to be hired will probably be fired a numerous lot of times before you are made to realize you don't have the skills and just frankly got by being spoonfed bullshit from teachers not even well learned better than you and with the same unwillingness to learn. Sick, it would be to deem you don't need anymore education and rather one point or another find no one will support you and you yourself cannot live to support yourself as a graphic designer and are forced to do something else.

Truly such people did not want to be graphic designers when forced into such holes of burning oneself down in hubris and pride. There is nothing wrong with going to higher education when its not behind some stupid art program or some cliche group graphic design idealism. There is nothing wrong with learning things that aren't taught in the graphic design classes you took at the community college or their elite central club. There is nothing wrong with avoiding the whole sum of graphic design as but a minor just so you can get a four year degree in something that does not change ever so exponentially. But people are only certained and centered on doing things that in regards of actually reaching any endgoal cannot actually yield any results for them. You might complete the said associates degree in graphic design but realize how much you were lacking when going to transfer somewhere else. You might complete the said associates degree and never be hired because you have no real skills. You might complete the associates degree and transfer to another college and find you cannot actually major in the graphic design program without it taking five more years of your time and might have to minor in graphic design to just graduate in two years under an applied arts and sciences program. You will never consider any of this when you think you are ascertained to things in which you are not.

Even if you learned things and worked hard probably no one will ever buy anything from you or even commission you at an associates degree level because discrimination exists and people prefer their idealisms of superiority over fairness. At least by claiming the actual most minimal people say they are done with education with in a four year degree you can say that you actually tried to become a graphic designer and not just gave some limited thought and piss poor effort and thought just by one certificate and the words of a teacher who never worked in graphic design and is not a colored person-that you would make it. Truly some people are like this in life and well they make too much excuses to why they failed when the answer is that they did not do enough for them to become who they wanted. You don't become who you want by taking the cheapest and easiest road. You don't say," since people make it in a cutting corners and privilege way that I am going to make it too".

I do say that the graphic design field at least to the knowledge I have of a community college experience and their lack of will to learn anything new or want to improve theirselves to where people generally would if they did not think there was only one path forward and one endgoal to claim is the comic book field. So many comic book artists never have worked another job, don't have freedom of speech to post anything they want and not be fired( everyone cannot be Stan Lee or Jim Shooter writing columns) and they don't have any other skills. I mean this in  the most neutral way but really whose fault is it that you don't have the skills to run your own company and just the work and run of the mill dog to corporations? Its your own fault thinking that you would never have to learn anything else and that this was all you would experience in your life. That you cheapened your own experience to be a constant struggle of autonomy and authority of your own life and that is what is never puzzling. Some people just don't want to learn anything else and just assume that they will get to an endgoal by continuing to follow something that will never get them there but give other people enjoyment and wealth. Literally enough, the self servitude and slave mentality found in both people or groups is disgusting. The self publishing comic book artists I have found like the dude with the "W" book and others are the most redeeming of an entire group of people who sell theirselves short when they had the potential to create a better future and still do but refuse to do so. While they are the underdogs, at least they don't let people silence them or make them lesser than who they are.
