the Epidemic of Burnout
the Epidemic of Burnout
As the era of the pandemic draws on and particularly only worsens in complexity, let us notice just alone that many content creators have fallen off the wagons of staying in touch with pop culture and more than enough just have ultimately have nothing to post. It'd be for the fact that many people still cannot go anywhere and many don't feel safe that people ultimately have trouble content creating in the first place. Many content creators get their whole inspiration from the world around them and if they can go many places or do many things then yea; it just does not work. Also when many people don't feel comfortable and will not feel comfortable even if you did engage with things " as if the world is normal" you would just distance alot of people from interacting well with the ideas you put out. Instead of a fun party seeker, you now are just a jerk who does not care about anyone else but your own life. I am to say at the beginning of the pandemic, some dude try to play a prank on people on a subway bus but no one was in the mood. No one wanted to be bothered and even this prank was a great inconvenience to people trying to conserve their lives.
The whole thing is that many content creators don't recognize how many of their actions just don't fit well with the modern reality and just don't realize how they actually look to a great majority of people. This coupled with the inner energy problem and people never being comfortable enough to accept a culture of pranks and dares and all types of stuff in public or using the public-just does not make for good success for content creators who once had it easy. Even if you never are the type to go outside and pull a prank, just have a belief behind certain tendencies can just get you in trouble as a creator with people. Yet foremost many people are just burning out because there is secret backlash to whatever they are doing. I am to say some people really realize that they aren't like the people behind these contents they watch and enjoy and just fall out of focus from these individuals. This means people have to work twice as hard and if before was hard for the content creators-then it is just beating them down. There is to be said that many content creators don't have long term goals and don't know how to manage their efforts or time behind things so that they do not burn out. Ultimately, many people have suffered the consequences of really not understanding their audience, being a good citizen and ultimately just taking their time to actually create the content. I mean, some people just rush onto whatever is trending for the views but can it be said they actually enjoy anything in which they are doing? The answer is no. Just no. They just do it to stay relevant.
I find that pop culture in the pandemic is just a vortex. When the pandemic first started, you could say that it was the Animal Crossing craze people were bent about. Next after that was the Among Us game in the fall or nearest it. There was also that game with the mini creatures that everyone was crazy about but that surely enough faded away not even a long time after the "hype". I mean, I don't even remember what it was but the characters were like beans and stuff. Alas, the hype for that did not even last a year. Fall Guys, that is it. Then you had a time when and where Owl House was popular and really was. Then after that you had the Genshin Impact game, whatever the honest fuck that is. You could consider My Hero Academia to be another hype thing due to the level of fucking spoilers( people just started to go stir crazy, no one has ever trended a manga so highly before on twitter like this manga) Then the Resident Evil Lady was a thing in the spring later and after that was Samsung Sam for just like a month or two into summer. I mean just for May and June and that's it. No one really post about it anymore. And just like that there was no more pop culture. No more successors of common interest in which tons and tons of people would post about. Chainsaw Man is likely to become the next one but that would not technically be the same hype train that has been going on for the others. You see, the level of content creators has been staggering and leveling off.
Ultimately some people just don't post anything anymore. They only post one or twice in a month to where they previously posted everyday. Some people ultimately have decided to leave social media because they are stir crazy, "bored" and just so eager to be behind some hype that they cannot stay still in thought and or movement or thinking that the "pandemic is over!" There is a saying that sums up why certain people are doomed to fail, " its not over until its over". The current condition of things is that people who are content creators are actually diminishing in their posting capacities and that anything that would have made tons of content for them usually will not because of the circumstances. The things of the pop culture items is that one after the other only fills an "inspiration void" and sometimes people just cannot get behind these ideas or be really appreciative of them the world being as it as, their audience have concerns about their philosophies and behaviors and ultimately the behavior of the content creators theirselves.
The world is not at a place where people are content that they will live to the next day to be concerned about some pop culture topic for very long. People usually just want to fucking make money off these things but is that real enjoyment? I am going to say that its not. To make money off of something you usually have to consider how much money you make off something and that may not be the best thing that inspires " fun" in anyone. Even if it is easy.
Oft, these grand topics of pop culture which usually help many content creators out for ideas and substance of making money don't help them today when the dynamics have changed and people just move onto the next thing as soon as they get settled into the idea. Really much in content creation everything has its start and then its peak and then when its truly over saturated/overdone that people move on. Yet, many people don't even reach their pinnacle because many people are just "panic creating" these different pop culture things and then moving viciously to the next. Usually before the pandemic and even up to Fall Guys, people usually where able to reach some kinda of pinnacle behind these pop culture ideas but not anymore. I just don't see people create as many works per each pop culture idea as in the past. Its just one and done and that just signals how people are just rushing from idea to idea and the circumstances of the pandemic combined with their own egoistical actions are burning them out.
I am to say that many people are not creating enough these days as well as they used to in the limited time they used to have in comparison to where there is most likely more time to create. If people have more time to create and did have at least more time to create at some point or even to this day since the pandemic started why aren't artists flourishing? Its because people subscribe to a jerk bullshit culture that is about using fandom and pop culture trends to be competitive as fuck and just burn and deforest their own fucking forests to where they cannot cope to create anything good but just hold onto the past where things were "simple". Or that they weren't forced to ultimately change their perspective on things and the whole world. Oft, a person only with goals and real goals will be able to stay on center and actually create anything in the "excess time". Ultimately those who run off hype have suffered as really people don't want to stay to one consensus fade thing but rather just be off doing their own stuff and/or just rapidly advancing to the next thing and not even understanding the shit they just praised or even made a fan art about. Creativity takes time, its a shame many people fail to use it but go for the primal need of social fulfillment that is very pseudo centered and fake aka no one will actually give a fuck if you like these obscure pop culture things if you shouted it out Target, TJ_MAX or any place else. Its not as if you will get a trophy for making a fanart of Fall Guys or even bring it up later at any time later as a "great accomplishment in your life". I think that people, truly are lost to a syndrome of "fake success that is easy as long as you follow the trends". Yet in real life many will say that if anything comes easy-it was too good to be true. That is folks many people aren't ready to even utilize all the time they have potentially gotten from the pandemic but rather spiral out of control and be as undisciplined as possible but continue a myth that success lies between these pop culture items. Yet when people have become too rapid in fantasy of success and the nature of current reality in the pandemic(never realizing anything above) you start to realize that people have become too hyper and disoriented in any similar conformity and acceptance to really have another pop culture item.
When Chainsaw Man becomes popular when its anime comes out people ultimately will do what? Few people will be able to appreciate the work because they are burned out from their frenzies before and if anything will only be drawn in because there is an "anime to the work". I think that people have different integration styles when it comes to watching media and not all do it the same. Some people might peek to what it will be, others anticipate it and already are fans of the manga( source material), others do it because others nearest them said it was popular but will do it in their own time and just others will take later than most to even get into the work if at all. This is to say that people on the net are becoming less united and more divided as they chase their own interests in the pandemic era and/or lack the social persistence and discipline to respect theirselves so that they can actually succeed in such environment. Burnout will just become more prominent and as of this moment-there is no real social media craze.
That Loki show, the Owl House, the Black Widow movie and whatever Genshin Impact character released recently don't have the measure in numbers to even be large trends that many people make any art about or actually talk all that much about besides small communities here and there. In great contrast, there would be tons of art on these shows, movies and games that you would not have to find them but it would "find you". That is to be said much of these works are just splintered interests of the users of the net at this time thus illustrating how people are moving away from having one social media craze. I mean; if you don't get people dressing up as your character to appear in someone's feed who knows nothing of the character and later has to research when so much art and dressups appear in their feed-you just aren't a large trend. The burnout syndromes will continue just as much as people are greedy fucking dicks.
