NCIS New Orleans and its bad story of late which ruins everything of world building before just for social likes.
NCIS New Orleans; Most problematic storyholes.
Oh, I watch some shows on CBS on whatever days weekends are. I like watching sometimes the show called NCIS New Orleans. A sort of cop show where they are in New Orleans and investigate things dealing with and around the Navy or the "Water Force" part of the United States Army. The show is pretty interesting to say the least. The main character called Pride seeing visions of this woman who speaks to him for a great deal of two or three seasons if not longer. I mean even in the plain NCIS, Gibbs-the basic main character sees his dead wife. The shows really try to be these straight edge political police dramas or whatever but you can literally tell some how they want to tell other stories as well or deviate from an ultimately tiresome track of fucking boring police shows just like NYPD Blue( you had to be born in the 90s to even know that was) and anything towards Blue Bloods. I mean Blue Bloods is the worst fucking CBS show ever. It is so boring and really I don't think people like cops that much to see a whole fucking family of them. The "blue" is in our blood.
Yea, the story with that show is so boring that it really just depresses people and namely people of color. Let us just say that. At least NCIS and NCIS New Orleans and that other NCIS basically try to be more dynamic and make real efforts to actual make stories that people actually want to see and what people want to be able to relate to. You cannot relate to a bunch of white cops, not really and really when they all are just the same fucking person written from a different angle of "what if they are younger man, moderate age female in her 30s and 40s, teenager or old man". Literally there is nothing to be noted good in Blue Bloods but boring shit and people who really don't even represent real white people of any or all the types their are. Its a fucking annoying show and I say that in a "Boston" accent. Get busy with the Boston accent. The only interesting person in that show, Blue Bloods is the dude with the "Boston" accent. Nothing else matters and frankly the show would have been better if it was just about that one character and their family as these cop heritage people. Anyways, NCIS New Orleans is one show that really seems to want to be so much than it contemporaries or its comparable shows in the same genre. It has science fiction elements but yet is flawed greatly because it tries to capture the real world in its works leading up a large plot hole.
Like a bunch of shows this fall 2020 season of tv, they try to include the pandemic and the black lives matter movement. To be said that whole aspect of adding things from reality takes away the tenant of escapism people look to shows for. Its like, "who decided this".What is worse is that these events in shows are purely symbolic and not any good commentary on anything. Its to be said they are utterly useless skins that showrunners and corporations over shows think people want in their shows as if to "match the pace of the times" and show some sympathy with the people. I really am to say however its most likely showrunners who think people want to see exactly real world stuff in fictional content that really serves no commentary or no real reason to even be included. Frankly the move is all fucking stupid. It comes across as disingenuous when really these issues get pushed aside especially in SWAT, NCIS New Orleans and any other show really. Let me tell you that Grey's Anatomy could really just excuse itself from covering the who epidemic with really how distant it is to even real reality. How many times must Meredith Grey almost die? Too many times and really enough I find that its patronizing to real healthcare workers and those who actually don't get a second chance because they are risking their fucking lives? Oft enough people who include real life shit in their works as if their worlds even exist in our world true and true is a joke. Whilst these police dramas,nurse/doctor and legal dramas are just fictional works. Their context and whole persona is really lacking of any real personality but to be a staple item for analog tv stations to show. So bland of character really much that some shows are just pure down right out right-unwatchable. The many Chicago PD, Fire and whatever else the fuck are so boring that really-who watches these stale shitty things that are made really much to indoctrinate people with faulty images of how things are actually done? Like literally, hardly any effort is put into writing these shows from any real character stance and impact. I mean the people's characters up and off just change to the writer's discretion and really much that means that all the characters are usually just toys to be played with and there are really no real stakes unless a character's life is threatened in an episode or series of episodes where they are given solid writing to push forward this stake. Oft I am to say many shows like Grey Anatomy, NCIS, Chicago PD suffer from this incredulous notion that they represent "reality".
Take it from a country like America that hates anything that is remotely a cartoon and thinks they are for children; the people who write these shows are just the people who write something and say-" that is reality" when its a fiction. I am to say that really enough many showrunners seem fixated on recreating reality but really only autobiographies actually come close to representing real worlds that exist. Young Sheldon is more believable than NCIS and shows that are the height of "adult material that can never be cartoons/ animated". Yea, seriously, people actually think these shows are "adult shows" but really the logic behind the shows are quite cartoonish and really depict nothing deep that actually occurs in reality. They might make a passing mention but nothing canonical because once again they lack any real life context of happenstances.
Rather they have misinformed contexts of reality especially when it comes to persons of color or just anyone in general. For all the guises of hatred people who make these shows often have towards the animated form and what comes about in the animated form at least the creators of those shows aren't afraid to make shows completely about a context certain and actual touch on real happenstance and ideas which are represented in their stories. The majority of these "adult drama" shows are basic just blanket statements much that are too afraid to have one real hard character. Usually they are kind of just like different brands of chips and blankets and really are just used to pass the time and really aren't to be enjoyed as people do shows that come out on Netflix like Queen's Gambit and Stranger Things or even Sabrina. Like earnestly, I would never just sit down and like say, "let's watch NCIS this or that". Nope, I am sure many people don't just sit around on streaming platforms looking for these "old world novelties". At one time or another this junk was all you could find on tv much and much. I am so glad they have those superhero shows these days and we actually get real heroes than people who are written to be pseudo heroes. The thing is that I really cannot enough even relate to many of these police hero, doctor and professional drama shows really enough when the people are just carbon board cut and paste characters that really have no originality. I would say that however, NCIS at least has believable characters. They had a goth on their show when they first began the first one and that meant that they were up with the times. Not some nerd blond woman in coat just agreeing with everyone. NCIS New Orleans has some interesting characters to a point and maybe you can actually relate to the characters being heroes in this one because they seem like real people but then again, writing choices tend to obscure these connections when you have people hallucinating and shit. Ya, but who is to say these are not realistic things, reality is different from individual to individual and just because one person does not see a person in their time of need does not mean another one will not. Yet this is actually bad because these shows actually try to be "realistic" and "not cartoony" or "not to the animated sensibilities because that is for children". Yet enough I am to say some plot lines of these shows are just watered down anime stories.
I mean that whole fire show Shonda Rhimes has is just a shitty, tacky, sex filled romp and almost pointless rip off of the anime Fire Force. Not because it does not have people turning into fire creatures, its because it often tries to make these rather interesting characters the writers think real adults with "identify" with. Its likely to be similar because it has a woman leading the firefighter squad after her father gets sick and basically the group of firefighters are kind of outsiders in this regard. I mean, really much how many woman who are young women lead a fire fighter unit? I really cannot think of any great examples. Each case of fire or whatever is to be "extraordinary". I mean they don't have the typical Chicago Fire notion of things were its bland and textbook. Nope, if japanese people ever find a unique take on something that is literally boring off the fucking rocks-some America always gots to cash in and make a "believable adult show" that is really bland, not even realistic and frankly just bad. I mean only horny forty year old women watch Shonda Rimes's content in the first place, rarely the 20s dynamic and moderately and waning the 30 year olds. Yea, the Fray's " How to save a life" basically made the Grey's Anatomy show yet did anyone actually listen to any of their other songs if they watched the show? The answer is that the Fray will never be as popular as Cold Play for "good songs" but because they are the Grey's Anatomy's artist and band group.
To be said Americans really don't understand good storytelling because they are told some contexts are childish and some lacking and fake representations of adult hood and real life are the "real thing". Earnestly, the animated form is just no for cartoons or kids and really some people don't get that far in their mental development. Which means that really can such undeveloped people ever but think of non bland narratives other than childish? Or think that they are somehow superior to others because they use "live action". Can they ultimately just belittle people of color's narratives because it all seems, "cartoony" to them? Yeph, they always have to add something dark to make it "believable". You just cannot have people living natural fucking lives in any of these shows. Earnestly these shows never really include people under their 20s and in their 20s to any great satisfaction. They are kind of dismissive portrayals or only there for political motive.
Like literally if no black boys got shot in real life would NCIS New Orleans even have a "black lives matter" anything in it? They would not because earnestly the lives of people who aren't adults really don't matter to the people who write this show and if they ever have any happiness-they are cartoony or apart of a cartoon and they assume that people don't like that. Yet really if anything; there are never really enough youths in any of these shows depicted anyway right-that it would be nothing but a cartoon of a showrunner's expectations. Always seeing things from a condescending outside view. Thinking that people actually do some fornite dances in real life or something cringe as that in a show that is to be serious and ultimate dismissive of reality pandering reality as "grim and dark". The great faults of these stories are that they lack any real notion of reality and that their blanket generic enough shows can never be capable to handle anything in reality appropriately. I mean in Ben 10 alone, you have more subjects done better than these so called " adult drama shows" do. Kevin 11, is homeless. They show freaking native americans in ever incarnation. Most enough the main character alone does have character development more than what these characters on these adult drama shows do. Literally this cartoon is written better than an "adult show". Because it actual builds a world and the characters enough stay the same throughout the whole thing and one guy just does not die because "writer's want them to die". Let me tell you that NCIS New Orleans fails in building a world, characters that have a continued trait to even be the same character and really much ultimately fails at keeping a timeline right. Do they know what reality is? They don't. Such to say, maybe enough with the rise of streaming some real mavericks realize that animated works aren't bad and its okay to have more than generic concepts in your work if not actual narratives based off real life experiences and ideas than tired archetypes. Literally, on Netflix, any police drama is literally a parody of the most contrite and boring blanket statement shows on analog tv. Yeph, they have to be "magical creature" police and that is an advancement that these big networks will never be able to make and particular kinda of spells their doom. Why, because some merit is given to characters and worlds having to be concerte to work out. People literally appreciate that and it shows a solid effort to make a world and tell a story.
Imagine this; one day the world is to be just like New Orleans yet the next day you have basically a person with a chip in their brain running around a killing people by remote control. Would that be reality? The answer is no because people with chips in their brains don't exist in this world and certainly aren't controlled through these chips to murder people. If anything to be said; some ideas these shows have basically in better hands could be whole anime shows. And if they sound as if they were ripped from an anime-they probably were because the creator got a "swirl of creativity and inspiration from watching something they think is for kids with their haunty superior framing attitudes". Enough to said, I watched an episode of NCIS New Orleans that had a person who was controlled through a chip to murder people. Rather it was a highjacked experiment and the sort. It went into the whole background of the wheel chair bound black dude. Try to make sense of his condition but at the end of the day you have to wonder why this guy is in a wheel chair in the first place when they could have literally wrote anything else. The episode seemed to justify why he was in a wheel chair but really enough the guy himself is just a background character who really much is the computer help and whilst he threw himself in a wheel chair from the second floor to stop the bad guy from blowing up the lab; you just have to ask why would a person be written in a show to be disabled when frankly they are the only person of color in the show much and much? Its just to be a character trait that is all and nothing more. Earnestly; maybe the creator was just bored of people standing upright and made a character that is a wheel chair and black just for fun. But yea, some elements of the show make no sense at all or have any real merit to being in the show but that someone thinks it "makes the show realistic" or they have a slight appreciation to write something else than such a bland story for a time and add a person who is forced to kill with a chip in their brain. Literally just make a spectacle of the person and never actually giving a damn to their real sense of self. Its at these times you find yourself looking at disjointed reality or the showrunners and writers making a show really borderline unwatchable, cringy and "trying to hard to be another genre". For the life of anyone, if anyone had a chip in their mind that made them kill random people-they would literally try to end theirselves before they did anything else and really much the whole episode which was with the backstory of the wheel chair guy lacks this aspect really enough or this struggle and makes people appear as just objects in a story for "people to else be heroes". This seems more science fiction and is terrible done to the point of just being a "thing" that the creator/showrunner or creators wanted to add in for a bit. Its not as if they are going to have a whole season with people with chips in them being forced to murder. Nope, this is just a passing fad in the wind and never is mentioned again. This is to say this does make for the best world building at all.
In the episode special where Pride and his second other dude (who speaks in some fake accent of a place I don't know really but to know the accent is fake) go to a fictional near Russia country. That is to be said that really enough that logically thinking the Earth that NCIS New Orleans take place could never be the same world as ours. The whole premise of these ditzy shows are to say, " we represent reality and we are the things real adult watch and concern about and yes maybe we steal ideas from animes or fictional works occasionally"; yet do we have a country that is fictional in our world map? Nope, we don't and expressedly these shows don't want you to think too hard on international realities and actual current American vs Soviet issues but the same good olde propaganda of "these places are bad because they have communists". Maybe some people who watch this show and hate "animated works because they must be for kids" somehow have the strange unrealistic notion that the country noted in the show actually exists and tensions and things are that high in the country. I would love for them to actually have brought over people who don't get along well in the denizens of those places like blacks and women and there would be real tension. I am to say take note of this for one and two reasons. The whole arc basically was about Pride getting poisoned and seeing the past recollections of his past that do set up for some later events that maybe advance the story but never show any real character advancement in Pride. It kinda of was pointless of an advent but also a waste addressing some issue they late would want to talk about which is the race issue. Also, let us just say that the world of NCIS New Orleans could never be the real world because it has a fictional country that does not exist in reality. Another point that would be a third reason to all of this as mentioned would be the fact of the "serial killer" modified chips that led one individual to kill people in a show which literally is a science fiction idea that the show did not even flesh out well to be believable. The person literally does not even get any time to self respect or reflect and is just a spectacle.
Taking these ideas to heart and how they are really contradictive to the current NCIS New Orleans story lines, you can see that there is a really large story hole in the NCIS New Orleans continuity and that it is written in a very bad way. One episode you have a poorly implemented science fiction element. The next one you have a fictional country that does not exist in our reality. And then you have an episodes or some episodes geared around as if these characters share our same world. Its a joke, really much that no one has pointed out that-the whole premise of world building is very shallow here and people are just to believe what was placed in front of them like a blanket from reasoning. Literally I don't have to tell you that there is a glaring plot hole in this. How are you going to make a story where honestly everything is to change at the whim of writers or writer or showrunner? Where typically the world the show exists in already does not have the same level of events as we do in this world but rather a fictionalized element and version of our world. I mean it has a person who has a chip in their brain with someone highjacking them to kill anyone nearest them. There is a fictional and rather political maligned country. When a show like this tries to incorporate black lives matter and the coronavirus into its storyline-it flops big time because the show has never been apart of this timeline at all and is only apart of it without any special time "rearranging" event. Meaning that the writer's just thought without explanation they could write the show in to the world we live in and it would all make sense. The thing is that it makes no sense at all. Such low lacking sense that its a high level jump in reasoning to conclude anything at all from the prior world building matches with the current. It does not. Which means that there is a very severe plothole.
How do we get from a world with a fictional country to a world that wants to behave as if it was in our world all along? You cannot get there unless from bad fucking writing and a lack of fucks given. "Oh, we are just going to put it in there, to please the audience that this a realistic work that is not a childish animated story", is what the creators think. Yet in reality no one watches these shows for their political takes. They just watch them for these dull characters mostly and these most contrived "normal" stories. Yea, in real life folks being a police whatever-finding people being controlled to slaughter through chips is a real instance. Its not, I am being sarcastic. And pretty much the whole covid element is pretty forgotten in the story after a few episodes. The black lives matter issue is really not present much enough to any great impact. Its more of like they for an episode or two show off a skin using the issue and really nothing of value comes behind it. There is no real build up or character arcs nor anything at all but just a one or two serialized thing that really I am sure they did not spend much of the episodes on. Literally, they ruined the story's world building just to say," we are an adult media and really everyone has to appreciate that we tapped into the horizontal thinking of adults". Just enough to say that they a " police drama" and are keeping up with the times and are so inventive and caring. Really it comes off as patronizing and really pretty much-I am sure that these type of shows are no longer anyone's real focus even if they do get good rating currently. These type of shows have not been a focus ever since the end of the 2000s really and with the rise of streaming-honestly; their audience and popularity is dropping. The literal instance of what truly is with these shows is that frankly people rather play the game of tick tacks on a phone than actual play the game on paper. People prefer a parody of these type of shows rather than these shows because they are out of touch, literally basic and frankly have no one real engagement per episode that shows any great world building. They are literally written constructs and not actual believable worlds. That is to be said, their writing is bad and maybe and just maybe other people have picked up this and started to mock these shows. Mocking them in shows that would never show on the networks that be of majority on analog tv.
I do conclude to say that really what does a world that has a different history enough for a country that does not exist to exist and technological advancements even come close to our reality? It cannot simply for having those elements and any element trying to reach the real world just comes off as avoidable, unimportant, patronizing and just stupid if not poorly written. The ideas presented do not even cut the surface of any sage opinion, morals to be learned or ideas that you would expected of storytellers to tell. There is just nothing but mindless cut and paste to be one and done with the times and then move forward. Ultimately, such to say that the ability for these type of police dramas and adult dramas on analog to compete with those on Netflix and streaming platforms is waning. Especially when they just toss in some issue they think will grab people's attentions to watch their shows but really show how much they care about these issues and even what their viewers can take. People want escapism. They don't want feigned care behind ideas or to be patronized or something forced in their faces that they see everyday. The best thing these types of shows can do is rather than try to be up with the times and political notions, they should just care about conserving their stories and their sense of identity that people will question after large plotholes appear. Where people begin to realize that these shows just have terrible writing and give no fucks to good storytelling and world building. In other words, if your show certainly does not exist on this exact fucking earth, don't make listless uninspired serialized 1-2 episodes or any episodes really on the subjects. It only will cause the audience to fall out of favor with you. To be real and honest; the whole police/ adult drama thing with these stale repetitive archetypes are dying out. Criminal Minds concluded last year in 2020 and really much I would not say it would take another two or three years for the original NCIS to be axed. The only shows that seem to work are the original police /action shows like MacGyver and Magnum PI and their revivals. Certainly whoever created this works were actually invested in created good stories with actual good world building. But yet I think that really enough by 2020 and how many shows just tried to implement real events with no good standard on how to do so-that the 2000s era of these police/ adult drama shows is over. No one sticks around for bad storytelling especially when its blatant. Had NCIS New Orleans just choose not to do any of the "obvious media attention" subjects, they might have been able to keep up with their world building in a believable way. Yea, people should not have to omit things that were put in the story before that ultimately contradict with the current story's telling.
