RWBY as if it is a Batman, TMNT or other franchise that has constant cartoon iterations.

 Volume 1 

1. Ruby attacked by Roman Torchwick and her goons must defend herself and the crystal shop from a robbery but this fight will open doors for her to go to Beacon Academy.
2. Ruby and Yang must catch the train that will take them to the place where the ships to Beacon on. They however must defeat a mysterious grim first which is just a woman the locals call a Witch. Enter Salem.
3. Ruby and Yang meet Weiss and Blake. Ruby and Jaune mistakenly stumble into the underneath of the school where they find a device with a woman inside.
4. Ruby and some sets of students are launched into the forest and whoever they met first they will be forced to team up with for four years.
5. Ruby and the students battle the big grim, Deathstalker and Nevermore.
6. Jaune and Pyyrah go to a nearby town over the weekend so Jaune can train over the weekend.
7. Ruby, Blake, Yang and Weiss learn more about the White Fang when they stumble upon a demonstration. The Dark Fang attacks and the group fights them. The group comes to odds with Weiss being against faunas when Blake is revealed in the kidnapping to be one.
8. Split from the rest in a following attack by the Dark Fang, Ruby meets Penny. Penny helps her track down Blake. Weiss and Yang work together with Sun to enter the compound Roman Torchwich and Neo with the Dark Fang are holding Blake hostage.
9. Adam arrives and the united team of Rwby with Penny and Sun go to defeat his and Roman Torchwick's operation.
10.  Team JNPR and team Rwby go to get some sap for Mrs. Peaches assignment with Glynda. Equally however Ozpin dreads as Salem wanders near seeking to test those who are likely to become apart of Ozpin's plans to stop her plans of world domination.
11. Team JNPR must battle the Runic Grim meanwhile team RWBY battles Cinder, Salem's Champion. Glynda and Ozpin battle Salem.
12. Team RWBY and JNPR try to find more about Salem. Team JNPR hits the library and communication tower and Yang and Blake go to the city to find out if anyone knows and visit the club where they anger the owner and fight the two bouncers. Ruby and Weiss try to confront Glynda or Ozpin but neither will say anything about the encounter. Ozpin ponders in a conversation with Glynda if he should tell them.
13.  Ozpin makes the decision to tell team RWBY and JNPR about Salem and her origins. She is a being from the black bog created by the God of Death long ago. Years ago he fell in love with her but as she had actually magic than a semblance; she was hated and a cult pitted countless assassination plots to get her to become the "Queen of all Grim". Due to loving her he was cursed by the God of Death to live forever and eventually she became the Queen of all Grim and is now responsible for the prevalence of Grim in the world and even need for the huntsmen and huntresses. Apparently, Salem can be killed but another humanoid from the bog would be born. However the three relics by the God of Life when combined can destroy the black bog and the grim's connection to the world who hold back magic from the people of this world.
14. Team Rwby is adamant about retrieving the 3 relics but team JNPR does not want into the effort as it is too dangerous for them. Velvet Scarlatina wants to hang out with Ruby and catch her scythe in action for something.
15.  The girls of JNPR, CFVY and RWBY have a sleep over. Ren and Jaune have some time to think about their contributions to their team. Coco Adel proposes that they should sneak into the lost city in the underground railroad.
16.  After gazing at the elephant grim from an abandoned watchtower, the sleepover girls encounter Raven who is adamant to beat up everyone to speak to Yang alone( Yang does not know it is her mother).
17.  Ruby tags along with Velvet as team CFVY battles a Hydra type grim in a far off town. The rest of team Rwby try to cover up Ruby's disappearance with having Penny and Blake team up to make Penny look like Ruby.
18.  Cinder teams up with the bouncers at the club to take Yang out so Cinder can get good with Salem after destroying her favorite mug.
19.  Weiss runs into Neptune on a rainy day and they chat in a calming cafe to a mime hostess. Mercury and Emerald try to capture Weiss as they are apart of the cult that worships Salem.
20.  Team RWBY and Sun go to rescue Weiss and Neptune from the cult that worships Salem. Rwby battles Emma, who is like Ruby but has a black scythe.
21. Team RWBY pushed to their limits rely on team work to escape the crypts. Returning back to the school, Ruby doubts that Ozpin was telling the full truth and will figure it out. What was the mysterious power Emma had?

    I wrote this as today rewatched the first volume of RWBY. I am to think what if RWBY was actually thought out and made use of its characters and its story lore? Like who else does not think that Ozpin having sex with a Grim-fied lady is kinda of weird and they have human children? Like what implications does that have for anything. I think that the levels of curiosity of what the work could be; are seen in the materials you have to buy to understand the myriad of different authors. As you know there are many RWBY spin off books that add into the main continuity of things. Those are free from the productions terrible gambit of running and things of that nature. Like wow; those stories just fill in gaps the show should have filled in and I take a moment to pause what if? What if RWBY had actually a good story going on. Now, I will likely update as I watch the volumes but to say I have been thinking about making some kinda of RWBY work for a while. I like to think of this as a work that be a 2nd iteration of the work and not a remake of the current work. I mean the other one is flawed but I am to say in the hands of some fan it could work out better from the perspective of a fan wanting things to go full circle just like many shows and you need not buy all the supplemental materials.

    There are 21 episodes for this volume 1, why? Because that is just how much a show should have to flesh everything out to be at least competent. How many times do we hardly see any interactions between team RWBY and JNPR? Why does Neptune matter into the story and how can you introduce Mercury and Emerald as their own people instead of pawns to Cinder? As well keep somewhat the later seriousness but not lose the comedy gold of RWBY? I think this outline would be something that would do justice to the story instead of RWBY CHIBI and all that.
