WITCH is better than RWBY!

W.I.T.C.H was a comic and tv show in the 2000s. Many know it either from the comic which printed from 2001 to 2012. In my opinion only the first few volumes are worth reading and then it quickly goes down hill because seriously Disney wrapped it greedy hands all over it and the original creators fled. That  would happen later on though in its run in 2004 when the animated show would be airing. You heard that right, Disney has an italian division these days but they don't treat people right anywhere they go. Honestly, Walt Disney was a bigot but really the creators Alessandro Barbucci and Barbara Canepa  were kicked out of having any rights to their own creation in 2004. This is when the series many knew would air up until 2006 when it was cancelled.

Let me tell you that RWBY is a property where the real creator of the series as well can not enjoy profits from his work and its just taken over by people who were just coworkers under a company that just continues to do wrong to its employees and have scandal after scandal. They might have fancied theirselves friends but boy have they butchered the work just like Disney did to in print W.I.T.C.H. Alas, here I compare the first two seasons of the animated show of W.I.T.C.H to RWBY. You see the all revolve around teenage girls, the names of the girls make up the name of the show/team, and they all have bad production histories/ tragedy in more like that RWBY has the real tragedy and the W.I.T.C.H show was more subverted by corporate control. The real tragedy of RWBY was the death of its creator Monty Oum unexpected before the 3rd volume was to be completed. Really after the 3rd season is when the show basically tanked because the person who made it special at all was replaced by people so mundane and far from a conscious of his true creativity; they just wanted the money and the rights to the property rather than doing what was right. I mean they totally distance theirselves from Monty Oum's wife and literally she was right there with him writing the stuff for volume 3. In a letter that was later placed to the internet by a person called Stone Face which is written by Shane Newville, he basically says the real situation behind things was not so neat and so friendly as the people behind Rooster Teeth make it even seem. That many things in volume 3 where changed and that Monty Oum and his wife worked together to make RWBY. else that Monty Oum's wife went greatly uncredited in vol 2 and 3 and even in future volumes. There were not supposed to be some sad scenes in volume 3 which were added by RWBY. The letter also says that anyone close to Monty Oum in respecting his ideas including his wife were kicked out of the company or involvement with the project, "“Just so you know, Sheena has absolutely no business, whatsoever, with  any part of RWBY.” " Let's just say that corporate control won with RWBY at the end of the day.

The big thing is that there was obviously more internal strife in RWBY production that there was not in WITCH's production but let just say that the people who were key to making WITCH were a team, the people behind RWBY were not. Its clear after years that the version of RWBY today is not the creator's original vision and the company Rooster Teeth was too lazy to truly respect the creator's work at all but just use it for money. Apparently being so hostile to having his wife on, the person who actually worked on the idea with from volume 2 and even onward that the wife just moved elsewhere.

I am to tell you that I live in the same state Rooster Teeth is in which is Texas. There are somethings that stick out to me in this self narrative that I myself have experience around such creatives or people who are graphic designers or trying to be them or just animators and multimedia people. There are something that stick out to me in that open letter that seems like the real world of how certain people like to behave. They pretend to be so nice and collected in an outward appearance but deep down everything is a state of conflict and only one voice is right and if you don't kiss the ring you are the bad person. There is in my understanding of how things are in some of these regional creative businesses a great degree of fakeness behind companies and their outside image versus how they treat people otherwise. The thing is that apparently, RWBY being toxic is not a one on thing but a many time thing. Not paying your staff well for overtime when they work on your animations to the abuse of an employees wife alongside other sexual misconduct things; I am to say that a person should not trust the people of RWBY for anything when they cannot clearly behave long enough at all. Greatly the words of Shane Newville in this open letter just reveal maybe why these future controversy things later occurred.

I am to say that truly there is great proof in these controversies that the people behind RWBY aren't all good friends and they aren't true to this nice image they put out there. They are just ultimately false and just users by how badly they pay their animators. Disney might have been bad for the creators of WITCH but what? Those people stuck together. I am to say you probably would take the side of a person who sticks with their friend's vision than just a corporation that treats people wrong. I mean-its that simple. True friendship is proven but there is no friendship behind a large company folks and that's just how things work with companies. People who work in the building are not going to be friends with each other or everyone is not going to be a friend. There is a great difference already in RWBY and WITCH thus far; there is internal drama in RWBY because mainly the person who created RWBY was Monty Oum and his wife. Everyone else was just lucky to aid in this production because they literally were just like Disney was to the creators of WITCH-they were just the production company that did not care about the creators but wanted the IP for their own uses.

Let me just say, that honestly how do you even know that Roosterteeth would not try to bank the success of an IP as they did in the after math of RWBY's creator's death; on the voice actors of the characters. Oh wait they actually tried to do that with this show with armored robots and was a Gundam rip off? Spent so much money on Michael B Jordan, David Tennant and more pricy voice actors and just used that "celebrities make the show". I am to say that after Monty Oum passed away, all RWBY did was spotlight their actors as the reason why RWBY exists. I am to say that honestly, Disney while messed up has some morals about it and does not go to this very messy state of business that Rooster Teeth is in. They literally don't try to sell lies so insulting that people of any great cognition can doubt and realize are lies.As stated before; Rooster Teeth is not full of friends but to this day they like to profess they are and that this friendship made RWBY. I never have believed that garbage because at the end of the day, RWBY is a company. They will say whatever to save their business. The thing is that Disney has more morals to not need to focus on a group of people to be saving voice of its company. No, the works it creates are the saving grace. Ergo to say that Disney is not all that well moraled, but at least it does not sink to the lows of what RWBY does to try to rewrite history and deny credit whilst trying to give credit to the original creator.

Its to say that the people behind WITCH and the true creators of RWBY are just the same; obstructed from their own works by profiteers. Profiteers being people who have no true passion behind the works to make them last and/or be good. In the WITCH case, it would be the creative team of a writer and artist who just be ripped from even being responsible for creating a work and in RWBY it would be a husband and wife ripped from doing their own work. In the WITCH case, the animated work would at least somewhat follow the story of the original comic and treat its characters in good faith if not allow the asian grandma to be a figure of power through her wisdom in the series. In the RWBY case, they definitely would not follow some great things the original creator had in mind.

I'd like to further tell you that WITCH has the better success in telling a good story because it was written by actual professional writers,  Andrew Nicholls and Darrell Vickers (season 1) and Greg Weisman for season 2. Whilst the ideas of Monty Oum where good, he was not ideally a professional writer. The work of RWBY was only his first work. It seems from the open letter that Monty Oum's ideas had to be accepted by other writers who later took over after he died. Whilst they say they work to preserve his ideals;the letter paints another picture and mind you this comes from an insider and not an outsider. It comes from someone who worked closely with Monty Oum and his wife. I think that the fact that Newville even wrote the open letter seems like he needed to write it out of respect for his friend and his ideal which was and is not being respected. I am to say something that most people don't think of but the people who replaced Monty Oum aren't real professional writers either. Just people who started their own business and found someone to move their business ahead. Red Vs Blue is amongst the works they had worked on before and guess what? Its literally just a large fanfiction on the Halo series. Whilst Disney can be bad it has the ability to hire actually writing talent. I am to say that there is a "fake it till you make it" mentality going on at the Rooster Teeth place. There is just a hubris of an identity that does not fit those who write. Namely they who write the show refuse to actually gain the real title they want. They don't seek to better their writing and they don't seek to truly humble theirselves because they act as if they are professionals when they aren't. I would like to see these guys actually get any jobs producing anything else outside their company. As it would turn it; its more than likely they would not have the skills or chops to make it writing something else. The current RWBY is a disjointed mess. Some of the world and its elements just don't match to what was presented in volumes 1 through 3. I don't think you can realize that people can actually tell contrast and some characters just seem so forced into a world they don't truly belong.

Getting to what we got already; WITCH is the better series because Disney could hire real talent that knew how to work with source material. The people behind RWBY suffer from ego that they are professionals in writing when they clearly aren't. Where would the writers of current RWBY be without Monty Oum and his wife Sheena? They would still be working on Red vs Blue. You can say that there is always going to be hostile environment where people constantly have to prove to be something they just aren't. If we are to be real about things; the writers behind RWBY today just don't have any credits much to any works  or any stories that point to good writing. There is only two examples of their work and both are dismal. I understand that Roosterteeth has changed from a small company to a larger one but really there are better ways to write things than what RWBY is written.

Let me tell you a great storytelling paradox in the work itself. One, a paradox is here and in many places-something that contradicts itself. The main character in volume 1 to 3, who is called Ruby is a character where you can just think of some general idealism amongst their loose presented characteristics and that character would be them.

This is to say the character is written so bad that if you make up a sheet of what Ruby is truly like from what is presented and what she may do in her free time; you would be able to be right because the story never defines her that well. All she does is fight, make noises of affection, try to be a good friend, has a desire to slay the grim and just is there. Like what do we actually have to show for her actually wanting to slay grim-the enemies in the series? Some loose motivations from Yang in volume 2 on how she misses her mother who died from something we still yet do not even know by volume 8 or from a time they got lost in the woods in the same conversation in volume 2. The greatest element of a character in a story and a person in real life is missing. Everyone has a motive and something they would be doing if they could do and when and if they make theirselves free to do it. I think the story has bad writing already by how motivations for Ruby is just missing. She is just treated as a young character who does not know what they are about yet. The friendship and possible romance between Jaune and Ruby was a selling point of the whole vibe they had going on there and yet Ruby is just incapable of having romantic feelings.

Look to Avatar, look to Dragon Quest (2021) and especially WITCH, the mains are allowed to human and have feelings. Many times when I watch the early version of RWBY, realize that Ruby has no romantic inclinations and does not state that she is asexual either. The story just makes her seem like a robot or a character that is not really defined. You can plug any value into this character within their limited characteristics and you could get away with playing a roleplaying game inside the show. In fact if you scripted the show's scenes in a certain way; I am sure you could just make it so that Ruby herself is just any character of your creation. This is to say the character has far too many gaps. Yet the real paradox shines in the later seasons which try to give her emotion and more depth which does nothing for the story. You see folks when you stab people they feel something. When you kill off a main character of the first 3 volumes off, does Ruby even try to do anything at all but spy on Jaune who is using this character's instructional videos to to advance himself? Does she truly even recognize anything of what was lost and try to stop it from happening again.

No, the character when she sees a revived character called Penny in the 7th volume really does not have the real heart to heart that she needs to even be committed to getting justice for what happened to the character the first time. Its never about the person who set the things into motion. I think that if a person triggered the collapse of a country and got away, some people of other countries would make sure this person is put down out of fear that it does not happen to their countries? Oh, well much things don't make sense in the second part of RWBY and even going past that all. Ruby herself just shows a fool's mentality; she has some heavy hurtful things handed to her and does nothing to get back at those when there is a chance. She does not get revenge on the killer of the main character in volumes 1 to 3. She just let's them beat her ass. Whilst silence the fourth volume they have tried to build her as a strong and resilient character who is trying to make a change in the world but she fails to even imagine to realize taking out a person who killed their friend and toppled world order would suite two means at the same time. Her character after volume 4 is a walking paradox. She just wants to see the world as a bigger adventure, make her noise and literally not care about the death of her friend to any meaningful way a normal human does. But she also wants to care about the world in how to improve it but just does not see how defeating the killer of her friend who also disturbed world order could help anyone. What type of story is it when the main character and leader of everyone else is so useless by bad writing. Did anyone ever take time to really define Ruby herself and her motives? No, they just make her run away at the end of the 3rd volume with her team because she just gots to Huntress. Its never explained what even she hopes to do by this at the end of volume 3 or why she even does it? Like why did she even get up and start going out there? Anyone have a clue-not me and definitely not me at all. Its not even until later 4th volume things start to be understood, it takes until volume 5 until all the main characters learn of their "true motives" in the gambit to eradicate the grim.

In short; the writing is so bad in this work that it just drifts around and expects to go somewhere when it could easily just explain the motive behind things, flesh out characters to actually work in the premise of the story and not try to write a character as having no character and then having a character  to become something that is not justified by the previous story at all in them having no character whilst having them as well have no character. To be said there is very broken character identities here in this work. Ruby is basically a blank generic character who does for some reason what she does. We don't know why she does it(hunt grim). Later in the series after the 3rd volume, she just becomes a more crafty leader never building upon how she does at all and frankly for many times just reverts to a character with no character that does whatever they do for some reason.  Ruby just has no real character but just seems to pass as having one by how she is seemingly written to be an open character not by genius but by incompetence. She ultimately can be anything people daydream her to be.

WITCH behind Will as the main character is able to do what? Have a relatable character to younger teens who reacts in a human way to things and is not robotic. She can have faults and learns from them. She also has red hair and is the leader of the group. I am to say that Ruby just is presented to have no real faults other than being naive but it never goes into detail on her faults and how she even learns. This goes back to the part where Ruby basically sees her friend die or two of her friends die and does nothing to defeat them when she has a chance. Literally sucks in any human character regard. I think that you would be practicing to take out the enemy to the world who also killed two of your friends yet in volume 8 Ruby is of no use to defeat the enemy. She is completely bankrupt in a rational response and her character never changes to justify what she actually does in any logical sense. It may be that Ruby is an idiot and that is what the writers want us to infer but you don't think that foremost when the writers are bad at their craft. The most stupid thing is where they write Ruby to hate the teacher that let her in the school early as if she is a complete and utter brat. This one time where she makes a mistake in judgement, she is not called out it but just allowed to be a brat. Will however is never allowed to be disrespectful to her elders or parents and just get away it with. You could argue the stakes are different but I think a man who lives forever would know what he is talking about in the facet of people being traitors and why secret identities exist. WITCH cast and crew seem more understanding even though they can be literal children; they get the job done in either the comic or the freaking show. I don't know what the point is of RWBY by now but is like they are just coasting on what gold the creator left behind. The discovery of things in the 6th volume if not the fifth and the fourth aren't the best executing things. They are just "treated as how things are supposed to be". Rather that the writers of RWBY after the creators' passing and his wife's booting just seem to be amazed on what must be written down in the creator's original notes and just are trying to intimate what things as they could be but just lack the creative energy and that focus.

Let me tell you something, how many people of color where on the production team of RWBY in any heavy capacity? Only one really and that would have been Monty Oum. You see the original creator was four different groups of people from asia in one person. There are surely a great sum of rich cultural experiences in each group that showed up in his development and his life and his art. You aren't going to get so much creative energy as the same coming from a group of white people in Texas of all places. I mean, I live in Texas and do I have any white friends? No, I don't really at all because you cannot trust people who only have one view point of viewing the world. If you tune into Decades, a station that appears on analog tv in the United States; you can basically find what? The vestiges of white people making fun of black people, native americans, asians, hispanics and just anyone who is not white. I am to say that people in Texas despite being in creative fields are just the products of racist and utterly close minded religious cults and mindsets that are detrimental to ever respecting the ideas of someone of color. They don't want to respect the culture of what ideas mean in a culture but just make their own damned ideas to what they mean that is made from a very belittling and racist stance and a place of severe intolerance. Its to be said that these people behind Rooster Teeth don't ever want to acknowledge the elephant in the room. They are literally all white people minus some people who don't even work on the shows in a creative capacity aside from the animators who get no say in anything. I am to say whites often get off thinking they can control the narrative of the world and the cultural influences from a person who was not white at all and did not grow up in a place that was belittling of different cultures but embraced them. No one wants to say it but Rooster Teeth is not the beckon for the people of color or much women at all. There is a controversy where they fired this one woman who was black because she basically was not going to tolerate the creepy talk of those next beside her saying that the hardships women and black people face today are in the past. I think enough you should realize that greatly when I see RWBY and it containing certain cultural items of different people done in away that is belittling of these elements, I think that the Rooster Teeth people just aren't doing well by them because they don't care for them and are just white people who want to use these elements because it was in some person of color's story.

I bring you to the next element, which story WITCH or RWBY gets as close to the original material or tries to do it justice? I am going to go with WITCH. Disney while having racist movies in the past, questionable fixation of turning people of color into creatures for their movies where they are main characters, and just gobbling up the entertainment properties and companies know how to hire its talent. Rooster Teeth is not making the effort with RWBY. It keeps its homegrown writers even when its very clear they weren't as close with the original creator as they would like to advertise. It does not bring in anyone who would be better suited to write an asian's work of fiction than culturally ignorant and intolerant white men. Let me tell you something; RWBY is only considered an anime because the creator of it was an asian who liked anime works and put that as the focus behind his craft. Now, do you get anime from any of Rooster Teeth's other holdings besides maybe the forgotten Gen;Lock loosely? You do not get any anime from the Nomad of Nowhere or Red vs Blue. All you get is just a bunch of cartoons. White men from Texas who are shown in their controversies to not be the most constructive white people who want to forgo from their ancestor's characteristics of women abuse, sexual abuse and racism cannot make anime something that is made by primarily Japanese people who have a total different culture and not corrupting and racist southern Christianity to boot. Why? Because they are just too hateful against other people having anything that is great and truly can never humble theirselves to learn about other cultures or anything of the such.

I am saying that by the merit of the talent that writes RWBY, they are literally culturally unable to real understand what it is they are even touching looking through the notes of a person who was an asian. And an asian from four different distinct and unique countries and cultures. I mean what would white people even eat if it was not for black people, hispanics and or asians given them adventure in restaurants to check out or culture to grift.  I mean people want to eat a taco but no realize they are racist and just don't understand the culture behind anything. I am to say much of the original creator's intents cannot be understood by people who view their culture and others as erotic or second rate. Ergo for some people them visiting a restaurant of a different culture is just a one stop adventure in which they can return to their holy than thou "christian/catholic"lives but for others greatly; this culture is their home.  Disney has a better track record of understanding people of color than some small company in Austin, Texas which  home to republicans who do what? Try to remove African Americans, Hispanics and Asians ability to vote because orange fellow did not win. Its as simple and shut as Disney actually gives a fuck to make a quality work while Rooster Teeth which is today owned by WB, does not care about making a quality work or recognizing the how racial differences equate into different cultural experiences that some group of people who are shown to be bigots cannot replicate. Aye, driving around an university when you are too old to be going there and yelling at women who happen to be attractive while married just because the university is near you and your work place is just predatory. What person sets out to yell at people who are too young for them and definitely would not want to be bothered by some dudes who are married and just looking to prey on young people at a college. I am to say this behavior just screams white incel here but that's what some Rooster Teeth employees did and probably still do. Greatly, I think Disney would fire you if you were caught harassing people who are literally 18 years old and just recently turned into legal age adults.

Its that in the end Disney has the real trades of the industry to actually realize any value of respecting cultures, keeping true to original material of previously existing works and the talent to make an excellent work that accomplishes the two prior means. Disney does this from a money standpoint and realizing it better not offend the people who buy into it! For people who worked with the creator of RWBY who was an asian, they cannot seem to get over their own white egoes to really do the work justice. This is ironic because they say they do the work for a "sense of family" and "respect"to the creator but all they do it for is chump change which is ridiculous. They might say they value their friendship with the guy and want to continue his dreams but really just care about the money. They just care about the fame and really don't realize how lacking they are going about the work to get any money from it. Many people myself included will not ever buy anything from Roosterteeth. Its that Disney has the real tools and Rooster Teeth are the real fools. Disney if compared to being a lumber company could make better pieces of wood with one tree where Rooster Teeth would jack up the job so fucking badly they would need to sell tooth picks instead. Disney is literally not perfect in adapting materials always but at least it does it in a way that is at least including more than white people into the folds of things and always having the best quality of things from the start. Ah, stability is what makes WITCH succeed as a cartoon close to its adaption. The company knows what talent to recruit , has certain goals in mind that least make an attempt to respect the cannon work, and has the funds to make the feature the best and employee everyone with the proper wages.

So in sum, WITCH has the better direction for teenage girl characters who have magical abilities and do good. Going forward I will use the WITCH series in its comic and animated show as an example of what writing RWBY could have employed and could still employ but does not.
