Genesis of 2nd Place.

A long time ago and then some time, akin 9 years ago-the internet was a friendly place. You could create anything and not be bound by a false identity of artistry. Or expected to draw fan art or this and that or basically be paid so little and think its enough so you could keep some false independence and security and live basically like a tool for people and never a free thinker for ones self. The internet was fun. Social media was too. But now, all but posting a picture dooms you. To the unthinkable. The privilege of people who think all they have to do is consume and seek for materials in which they are upbrought to think are tasty. Everyone artist has to be a servant, lesser and just equally suffering the role of fanart disguised as actual art. What is wrong with fan art? The individual never creates anything original and nothing that provokes thought as actual art should do. The original artist thinks they are contributing when in reality they are emptying theirselves. Like social media buttons, you only get gratification from doing the act of clicking the buttons and really much you get nothing out of reblogging anything. You don't get a social connection in which you deem to want by social media and even using the various platforms. Akin, fanart is an empty practice that seems to be what is necessary to communicate artistry but really does nothing but just give brief satisfaction of being one with the crowd and when that is over; it is back to the original artist's story of struggling to find originality. Sum enough it is often better that arts seek originality and their own gratification from their own ideas and artworks than seeking approval or fame than forever be begging to a cycle of troublesome trends that never truly enable them their originality and yet who they truly are as artists to be recognize and continued. But no one wants to do this and rather believe art is just an attention game and competition of the best trends.

In sum sites where artists never make pointless fan art are shunned from the misgiving people who beg on the ground for crumbs. Basically toss aside as worthless or odd because they will never will draw this pop culture character or this pop culture character or take apart in a philosophy that is built for people who realize they are servants and servants alone.

In the internet of the now in 2020, artists have grown to exclude all the true artists and just people who pay dearly to have their means of chasing an algorithm and trends of pop culture this and that.
No its not enough for any unique true artist to post any image and get any credit as they would in 2011. When the pop culture idealism of artistry is all about pop culture characters and that realm of being-there is no chance for true subjects to be covered or anything really complex to be garnered. No problems in society are covered by people who solely post to gain views. Everything is just to amass and fixate the mentally weak and the easily fixated on a nonsense definition of art. Utterly people would like to take individual unique fanarts and strip the owners of their names to the work just so they can bask in this commercialized idea and hold it as an idol. This is the disturbing nature of modern art on the internet and simple pictures are not good enough when you don't draw anything superficial and so much its much harder for any good artists to succeed. Artists' roles, of course are not be followers but leaders and yet so many artists online are nothing but followers and can never map out their own destinies. Such we leave art in the hands of people who are mere clogs in a finite system of interest and finite respect. You cannot respect yourself as an artist and then pander desperately to a public that would definitely not blink to take your work as their own.

I reflect that much and much; the sole growth of this inhumane culture is why this blog and so many other sites are second to none over the pop culture interests of people viciously out to idolize it or make money from it.. This is what has become of the internet for artists. A truly venomous place against the freedom of expression.
