Pirate Braynn 2007 dark world covers Rogue Destiny
What can be said about this work is that ultimately it has been lost under all the new focuses of the company and its various offshoots, from the Bunker Comics, the Krushre Comics, and many of the dark, dead-after comics. Even more comic brands that spurred from this venture, it tends to focus on one whole idealism. For many fans, I would like to believe that this is the beginning of the universe that Kyeombi began. While the original brand may not tend to have spare offerings other than the 2013 Open Dynamics, there were different new works that were never continued in any great, meaningful manner just to focus on these new efforts.
You must realize that this work had a lot going for it that it kind of squandered. It had a lot going for it that kind of squandered all the mystery, and ultimately, so much happened inside this work that could be said is a disaster. A disaster of squandered potential to eloquently and tactfully have good mysteries, to the greater mystery of what Rogue Destiny's true potential was. But what is its true potential? Only the author could have ever known. They squandered it.
After nearly 20 years of it existing, it never got to the point of actually being good. It starts as a mystery of runaways from what? Two brothers, one is adopted. AF Mischief is the main brother whose parents are captured by an evil corporation, and then his adopted big brother, whose parents were previously captured by the same organization, but earlier, causing much trauma even earlier. It just goes to show you that this organization is bad. But why did they capture the parents? To control the world!
The older big brother is called Jacob. He will become basically like the parent of the group because Natalie comes along, who is the daughter of the corporation's sponsor. They're almighty, and ultimately, they decide to go on the offensive after being hunted for a while and go break into the corporation's science base, where they find a sloth who has been waiting for them for quite a deal of time.
Because he knows the alternate versions of them, which may pose the question: Who is Ace Sloth in this world, if he even exists? Because he's just a little kid. Which poses the question that perhaps he comes from an alternate future where everyone is older, or the future has happened.
Ultimately, he comes here to warn them of the Benom, who have nearly taken over the world in his timeline, and thus must warn them. However, I would actually say it's not actually a timeline. His world is an alternate world, so it's not a timeline, and so ultimately, the Benom are in existence.
The Benom want to create Absolutes, who are super-powered humans, because this world has no heroes. None. I'm trying to tell you that Kyeombi did something with this.
As in, each work, basically, aside from the previous Kyeombi works, is a different work. Even if they exist in the same world in one comic, they don't in another because that's a different version of them.
In the version that may be in the world where a certain series happens, those probably—they're probably evil. They're probably evil or something. Something, yuck.
The story ultimately goes to the place where they meet Natalie, who is the daughter of the corporation, and together she uncovers the truth of AF Mischief's origin and that his mother and father worked with Jacob's parents at a lab, but they were kidnapped by the Benom and later released.
The corporation came, and AF Mischief was later experimented on when Jacob was taken under their care after his parents were captured in the raid. Natalie reveals his parents experimented on him, making him Absolute-adjacent. She has a key that literally can trigger his abilities, and this allows them to continue to survive as the corporation gives them more enemies to fight to survive.
They basically fight the corporation because there is no other way, but to destroy the corporation, and no one ever helped them to do it. And apparently, this is a dark story. You may wonder, where is all the mystery in there? But this exposes to you that basically it's not well made.
Volume One goes for a very cliché ending where we kill off what could be a series villain, and then we go to the next season where the brother of the CEO of the corporation wants revenge and knows of the Benom.
Volume Two basically ends up introducing the Big Aid Family, but minus the parents, and they are like the villains who work for the CEO's brother. And so things have gone bad in this world, and it's nasty to say the least.
Any heroes in there, any other continuity, are basically villains or not real heroes here. How can we progress the story?
Abram Clas and Robin join. They absolutely ruin the group homogeneity. It becomes like one of those shows with a revolving cast, there in and there out, and it loses the magic of unity and the mystery that has to be shared with a main cast.
It is enough to tell you the remainder of it goes so south that this is the introductory video. The eighth season reintroduces the Benom after a lackluster series without them, and they were the main villains. Whoot!
By the eighth volume, Jacob and Natalie are married. Ace Sloth is replaced with a bird woman of another alternate world, where it is rumored to be the future of the Jake and the Morphs world.
A lot of stuff made no sense all around and gives AF a mini-me through some cloning, which kind of makes him his son with the girl he is dating, and it gets past the censors.
Yet the major thing is censorship is so heavy in what should be a teenage story; they are stuck being teenagers when adult things need to happen!
But this is Kyeombi!
