Goals of the class.

 Goals of the class;

To teach you to create 25 comics and to make it into a business along the way so that you can make money in college or after it.

Assignments: daily log of advents through blog and YouTube using jpg avatar or actual face + comics

Materials: printer paper, lined paper, pencils, wiacom tablet, digital tablet,laptop, computer, smartphone

Cost ; $100 a month.

Week by week efforts;

14 weeks

basic art and drafting lessons as many people don't know how to draw. This course teaches the bare bones you gonna need to map your series out which will help you the artist or the artist you hire to craft your vision.

Learn to create your own idea database and create many ideas necessary to finish the course. This is more short form ideas.

Create your own conflagration aka you gotta create even more works in written form.

Draw a one shot like I did with Forge. This is not my method per say but it's a means to create comics none the less. This comic must be done without a script. Just imagine the comics you created a child. It's to tap into that as a skill. It can be a method itself but that is for later. Exam 1

Create your own small form 4 koma comic. One shot. Exam 2 

Create your own South Korean comic. One shot. Exam 3

Learn about comics across the globe.

Class unity comic project; create a comic series guided by your teacher using  4 by 4 method. Counts as midterm.

Create a YouTube video about one of your previous comics and post to youtube. Examine different ways to have a comic book channel.

Have fun with online assets and backgrounds.

Create your own online assets and backgrounds.

Make 5 comics using the 4 by 4 method. Final project. The rest of the class till Christmas is the time that will go into working on these comics.  It's unrealistic to make the jump from the small form to large form.

2nd semester

 14 Weeks

Make 5 more comics using the 4 by 4 method.

Turn the 4 by 4 Method into 4 page method for the ten comics.

Make YouTube videos for comics. Showcase your works.

Enter the class sponsored comic book contest with a new work that is anywhere from  4 pages long to 16 pages long. Tips on how to complete a comic and how to save the effort when you don't win.

Class showing of peers comics. Write a paper on it and make a YouTube video about it all.

Publish your works.

Study and understand the webtoon space of comics.

Research all Korean and Chinese sites. These are all potential employers.

How marvel and DC do not let you retain your rights but indie publishers do.

How to avoid wasting your valuable time on bad commissions. Why having a blog and YouTube about a comic is pretty much the only solid way to have a stable income.

Procrastination and the lifestyle of it to avoid. Why 25 comics?! Simply to build some series of brands that will allow you to launch a company that can compete with other established companies.

3rd semester

 14 weeks

Make 5 more comics using the 4by4 method.

Turn these into the 4 pages method.

Add 4 pages to the previous ten comics.

Add 4 pages to the 4 page comics of this semester.

Learn how to draft for 25 comics that are 4 pages( uses the previous just over again)

Make one comic from the 25 comics draft.

Compare and contrast the two different methods in a class project.

Make 4 YouTube videos promoting and building the brand of your YouTube channel.

Attempt all 25 comics drafted. Will be graded on effort. Does not have to be completed but should give you time to start on the final project to be completed in the 5th semester.

Practice the drewa method.

Make incentives for people to subscribe to your services.

Make 10 new series in writing and let's discuss how you can make the ideas better or get better inspiration.

4th semester

14 weeks

Add 4 pages to the previous 15 comics.

Add 4 pages to the 4 page comics of this semester.

Make 5 more comics using the 4by4 method.

Turn these into the 4 pages method.

How to create covers and graphic design elements for marketing, logo and typography.

Add color and finishing it.

Work on the 25 draft project.( You by the end will have two versions of each series as people love variety as in gachagames). Potentially practicing this you can make all the works you want.

5th semester

This semester mostly will be spent in its 14 weeks

Concluding the progress on the expansion of the comics and working on the 25 draft project which was started in the 3rd semester.

Make 5 more comics using the 4by4 method.

Turn these into the 4 pages method.

Add 4 pages to the previous 20 comics.

Add 4 pages to the 4 page comics of this semester.

You now have made 25 comics that you can market.

 and even add to your resume.

Final project; create the 25 comics by 4 pages out right with no help from your instructor using the drafting of the 25 done before.
