new retro wave of a certain coefficient.
Nero: Into the Night
This song highlights the eyes and ears of the cyberpunk movement, the music video seems to be based on Cyber City Oedo 808 where in the future noticeably in 2808+ japan is a lawless estate or rather, the city that once was Tokyo, is. The comparisons are endless. The main character of the vid for Nero: into the night seems based on the character featured in the first episode of Cyber City Oedo 808. A bit on the Cyber City Oedo 808, considered one of many futuristic and most inspirational for science fiction and future theme works, it has about three episodes which feature the exploits and adventures of one of the convicts, who by the way are the main characters. The convicts in return for shorter sentences do jobs that are risky and even deadly that no normal police would do. In the series there are many questions never answered. Like what the crimes the convicts did, but you can guess from the adventures. This series is good because it shows the passage of time and how "future" is defined in the eye of the beholder.
But besides this fact, the music of the series and the visual for the series are also very themed to the show and are very inspirational and have been said to motivate people.
This is the case in Nero, there is ambience of a city in the beginning of the video and the video takes the lawless narrative in its visual too.
But what this brings up is the subject of how the cyberpunk animes have influenced people's lives to the point that there is a new genre of music called New retro wave dedicated to the motif of cyberpunk, by using old retro computer themes and noises, old clips denoting futures which are not ours. It has been a great advancement that the cyberpunk element has advanced this far when many people certain do not know what a motif is yet, yet can even write a paper. Shows the disparity in education in America. Or rather morals.
Many people choose to educate theirselves and others do not, only the ones that do can understand the fantasy of cyberpunk, or is Cyberpunk really a fantasy, where there is a rise in technology and lack of normalcy where people are all education and culturally civilized to understand what a motif is.
Many people many be able to understand Cyberpunk and other themes,
but a type of person like a farmer, or that is basically living in the country probably would not know what Cyberpunk is. Because they live a life that incomplete. That revolves around them driving a tractor, probably yelling incoherent shit and farming shit.
They live in their own world and this could be said for them to be living in their own vr realm that is real very real. And while everyone knows of these other themes, many of these type of people think their way of life is king and that everyone else who actually lives in the real world of possibility is somehow stupid or less humane.
But its actually the fact that they value a fake style of living that of course others depend on, but is not even the entire basis of the world by any measure. These people live in a fake nonsense world disregarding people's individuality.
On the other side. There are people with an understanding of different themes and ways of life and are not stuck in one mode of life and have come to appreciate an art style, a music scene based on different realities, Ones that could have been but will never be. A type of art talking about the world and how certain people rob it of certain qualities and at the same time giving it qualities that make a reality work. Sense that there is a rise in the different education levels and people are basically choosing to be stupid, when there is so much information and opportunity to have. There is no excuse, there are criminals who do not do anything at all with any information and some, are just abiding information citizens using it to create this art.
New Retro Wave is just about what could have been and what still can be, however Cyberpunk is just a fantasy and science fiction genre and could only exist today lowly and its a work in progess, maybe one day, cyberpunk will exist. Its impossible to tell. But there is an underlying ability for the world to become anything in fiction to a certain extent, or certain coefficient.
