The harmful effects of YouTube on creativity

The harmful effects of YouTube on creativity 1

Look at the accounts of storytime that mostly are done by black people; they literally are cheapening their work just for a perceived return on investment as in parts of their videos are live action of them speaking instead of it being fully animated. Such to say they are not getting the necessary animation experience time as their peers. But Tru literally is the only black story time creator who has consistent animations because of Yoon Toons helping him out. I feel as if these dudes will never reach the point where they can make a show or anything and that fundamentally will stay at this place of making content for a company who can literally decide tomorrow or in some stupid farce to delete their channel.

My greatest suggestion to creators in this space is to not depend on YouTube so much. In this day and era, YouTube has too much control over money and seldomly gives to black people as it does to creators who aren't black. There is a great discrimination there that is basically backwards. The people who make their living on YouTube perceive it as being of good but in reality it is not for them. They aren't getting the coverage they deserve and at the end of the day the barriers by YouTube result in people stagnating. Making compromises in creativity and not going that extra distance to finish the said works as animation full will literally harm the whole independence of creative works as being able to be preserved. True people could marvel at the animated videos of these channels but then realize that they are not fully animated features. The take away is that these people should literally look to becoming a bigger brand and not being dependent on YouTube. Finish the animations for quality or up the live action segments into reenactments. Just to say that from the standpoint of not having these venues; that could you create the same work if you knew you could not post it on YouTube?

The answer is no. It would literally be better if a person actually wants to create anything but yet I am saying the place allows that the live action segments be overlooked as it's supposed to be animation; it would be a turn off if this was marketed as animation and it be not truly the such on anywhere else. People want to see the animation not necessarily the animator outside of the YouTube format.

It's to be said that YouTube should never be entrusted with your works, rare videos or quality control of your works as truly it diminishes what you can do in the long run.
